Dear Acton Pantry Supporters,
Would it be hard for you to believe that during Wednesday distribution our Pantry provides food to nearly 600 people? It may be a startling fact but it is true and has been since 2008. Those families who come to the Pantry are not the same ones each week. Many come when they have no other way to ensure their children have a nutritious meal that week; others when they made the hard choice to buy needed prescription medicine or pay their rent and then find themselves short of cash for groceries. In a life governed by uncertainty, they know the Pantry is there to help when they need it.
On each visit, our clients receive a nutritious selection of groceries that includes fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, milk, and eggs as well as staples chosen from our shelves. Each allotment is specific to the size and composition of the family and provides food for three days.
Every October, our organization sends out this plea to our past supporters asking for donations. As the number of families seeking relief from hunger insecurity has risen, we have come to count even more on our community to help us meet that need. We rely on the generous contributions of our supporters throughout the year but the result of this October mailing is a major source of our annual budget.
Please consider sending a donation today.
Because these three things we do know for certain: first, next Wednesday 600 of your neighbors will be counting on food assistance from our Pantry; second, our Pantry shelves will be fully stocked and waiting to serve them; and, third, your continued support allows our organization to make a steadfast promise to be a source for food that our clients can count on whenever they need it.
Thank you so much for your help.
