Dear Acton Pantry Supporters,

Most people are surprised to learn that nearly 200 families of our 460 families registered come to our food pantry each week. Often, they will then ask, “Who are the clients that rely on the Acton Food Pantry?” My response to them is, “They are your neighbors.” Now, more than ever before, the food-insecure represent a wide spectrum of our community: those on fixed-incomes; the disabled; the “working poor”; and those from all socioeconomic levels who are trying to cope with a frightening change in their family’s financial status.

Since mid-2008, our organization has served an average of 196 families during each Wednesday food distribution. We provide those nearly 550 individuals with enough nutritious food for three days. These numbers show no signs of abating. They continue to hold at the highest level they have ever been as many in our community struggle to make ends meet in this faltering economy. The need is real and the demand is relentless.

In the last six months, our organization has stream-lined operations and reorganized our dedicated volunteer crews to more efficiently direct our efforts to supplying food to our clients. We will continue to focus on improving our efficiency but we will always need your generous support to carry out our mission. The Food Pantry is located in the Boxborough Business Park at 235 Summer Road, Boxborough, MA. The Food Pantry is open Wednesdays from 10:00AM to 7:00PM. The Pantry is closed the 4th week of the month. Services are free but registration is required. Read more
