We need your help.

Dear Friend,

With one in nine residents of Massachusetts at risk of hunger, ending hunger in the state requires social and political will, greater awareness, and more resources.

Governor Baker level-funded MEFAP at $17M in his budget proposal. NOW is the time to contact your state Representative and state Senator and tell them why they need to support an increase in funding for the Massachusetts Emergency Food Assistance Program (MEFAP) (DAR 2511-0105) to $20 million in the FY17 budget.

We need your help. The budget is now with the House and over the next couple of weeks, members of the House of Representatives will be making their recommendations to the House Ways and Means Committee. In order to increase MEFAP funding, we need you to call, email, and send letters to your local representatives to ensure they support an increase in MEFAP funding to $20M in FY17. Please contact your legislator today.
We have gathered all the resources you need:
MEFAP is an important and reliable source of staples such as meat, eggs, milk, and fresh produce. The additional funds will help food banks across the state provide an additional 3 million meals to our neighbors across the Commonwealth, including the most vulnerable among us—children and seniors.
If you have any questions, please contact Catherine Drennan at 617-598-5067 or cdrennan@gbfb.org.
Sincerely,

Catherine D'Amato
President and CEO
