Highrock Church Youth Group

Members of the Youth Group at Highrock Church in Acton volunteered at the Acton Pantry on July 8. The group, led by Will Barnett, spent several hours cleaning and reorganizing the inventory area. Highrock Church has plans for a giant food drive to benefit the Pantry; it is scheduled outside Stop & Shop, Donelan's, and Roche Bros. for Sunday, August 14. 

Donation from AB Rotary Club

Action Boxborough Rotary Club generously donated $6000 dollars from Masquerade Ball to the Acton Food Pantry.

Acton Food Pantry Renovation Schedule

Temporary closing in January 2017.
The Pantry will close after our Holiday distribution on Thursday 12/15 to complete extensive renovations of the Pantry space. The Pantry will reopen on Wednesday, February 1.

During December, to compensate for the 3 January food distribution weeks we will be closed, clients will receive
additional food beyond their normal weekly allotment. This will include frozen meat and staples that will keep for use in January.

If you find yourself in need of additional food during our renovations contact information for other local Pantries is listed below:

Concord Open Table- First Parish Church, Concord, 978-369-2275, Thursday 4:30-6:30

Maynard Food Pantry- Coolidge School-rear, Maynard, 978-897-8340,  Monday 10:00-12:00

Stow Food Pantry- 1st Parish Church, 353 Great Rd, Stow, 978-897-4230, 1st and 3rd Friday of month

New Clients

Residents of Acton and its contiguous towns- Boxborough, Concord, Carlisle, Littleton, Maynard, Stow and Westford- are eligible for services at the Acton Food Pantry.

Registration is required on the first visit to the Pantry.  Please bring a photo ID and a second form of proof of residence with current address, for example, a utility bill, lease, etc. on the first visit.  Re-registration with the above documents is required annually and the date will be posted at the Pantry prior to that time.

The Acton Food Pantry has been providing food and clothing to residents-in-need in Acton, MA and surrounding towns since 1984. Clients receive 4-days worth of food which they choose from our shelves. This allotment includes canned goods, staples, meat, eggs, dairy products, fresh fruit and vegetables, bread and dessert. The Pantry also provides baby food, formula, and diapers to those with babies in their household and other basic household products to all families. The Clothes Closet provides gently-used, in-season clothing for children and adults.

Acton Community Supper and Food Pantry, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1984 to alleviate hunger in the greater Acton, MA area. The Pantry is located in Boxborough and serves Acton and the towns that touch its borders. The Clothes Closet and Food Pantry are open to free. Distribution and client registration hours are Wednesday 10 am to 7 pm and Thursday 9:30 am to 11:30 pm. The Pantry is closed the week of the fourth Wednesday of each month.

Acton Community Supper and Food Pantry, Inc. has an operating budget of about $100,000 per year. Support is received via donations of money and food from local individuals, businesses, churches, and community organizations. Some income is sourced from the recycling of plastic bottles and cans located at the Acton transfer station recycling center. We work in partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Please advocate!

We could not serve our clients without adequate MEFAP funding.
Through our partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB), our agency is eligible to receive food from the Massachusetts Emergency Food Assistance Program (MEFAP). Last year our Pantry received 62,000 pounds of food which we distributed to our clients. Each year, the MEFAP budget must be approved in the state budget.  Please help us advocate for this important funding!
